San Francisco native, Bill Lee, passed away peacefully on May 17th after a long term battle with colon cancer at age 75.
Bill, son to Esther and David Park, was born October 7th of 1942 in San Francisco, CA. After graduating Day-Fire HighSchool of the Arts in 1960, he went on to study cinematography at the University of Southern California (USC).
After a highly successful 38 year career as a film editor for Universal Studios, Lee retired in 2001 to a life of philanthropic work with Variety Children’s Charity and Ronald McDonald House, as well as many hobbies such as cooking, golf, and endlessly watching movies with his wife, Althea.
Bill met Althea (Pham) Lee in the summer of 1967, while attending USC where Althea was studying costume and set design. They were married in 1969 and had four children, James, Noah, Audrey, and Marilyn.
Bill joins his parents (David and Esther), sister (Amelia) and his son, Noah. He is survived by his wife, Althea; his three children, Audrey Zhang, Marilyn Thompson, and James Lee; and his five grandchildren, Noah, Ryan, Ha-young, Michelle, and Sarah.
We will always cherish all the memories and great times we shared with Bill.
